Want impress your family and friends with a homemade cake with excellent presentation? Try this delicious chocolate cake with strawberries.

Ingredients

  • For the cake:
  • 5 eggs
  • 150 grams / (5 1/3 ounces) sugar
  • 175 grams / (6 1/4 ounces) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate powder
  • 1 tablespoon liquid caramel
  • For the filling:
  • 200 grams / (7 ounces) dark chocolate
  • 200 grams / (7 ounces) strawberries
  • 100 grams / (3 1/2 ounces) powdered sugar
  • 150 grams / (5 1/3 ounces) softened margarine
  • Chocolate sprinkles for garnish

    Directions

    Step 1


    1. For the cake:
    2. Grease a round cake pan (25 x 6 centimeters / (9 3/4 x 2 1/3 inches)) with margarine and sprinkle with flour.

    1. In an electric mixer, beat on medium speed the eggs and sugar until obtain a creamy and homogeneous mixture. Then, add the chocolate powder and the liquid caramel and mix for 2 to 3 minutes to incorporate. Reduce the mixer speed to low, add the flour mixed with the baking powder and beat until creamy.

    Step 3


    1. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 20 minutes (the time depends on the oven).

    Step 4

    1. For the filling:
    2. Wash, remove the strawberries stem and cut them into strips. Place the chocolate broken into pieces in a bowl and melt in microwave, set aside.

    Step 6


    1. In an electric mixer, beat on medium speed the softened margarine and powdered sugar until obtain a creamy mixture. Then, add the melted chocolate, without stop beating.

    Step 7
