Fish loins with mashed potato

Want to prepare a different lunch for your kids? This recipe of fish loins with mashed potato is tasty and they will love it.

Ingredients

  • 400 grams / (14 ounces) hake loins
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • 100 ml / (6 3/4 tablespoons) white wine
  • 50 ml / (3 1/3 tablespoons) olive oil
  • 1 medium onion
  • Salt (to taste)
  • For the puree:
  • 1.2 kg / (2 2/3 pounds) potatoes
  • 10 grams / (1/3 ounce) margarine
  • Juice of one lemon
  • Nutmeg (to taste)
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • 300 ml / (1 1/4 cups) milk
  • Salt (to taste)

    Directions

    Step 1


    1. Season the fish loins with salt, chopped garlics, pepper and white wine. Let marinate about one hour.

    Step 2


    1. Preheat the oven to 180ºC / (350ºF).

    Step 3


    1. In a rectangular baking dish, place the onions cut into round slices and the fish with the marinade. Drizzle with olive oil and bake about 25 minutes.

    Step 4

    2. Peel, wash the potatoes and place them in a saucepan with water seasoned with salt. Bring to a boil over high heat. When starts boiling, reduce to medium heat and cook about 30 minutes. When the potatoes are cooked, drain them and mash the potatoes with a potato masher or with a fork.

    Step 5


    1. In a saucepan, place the potato together with the milk, butter, nutmeg, pepper and lemon juice. Stir well with a wooden spoon and simmer over low heat until the puree starts bubbling, stirring occasionally. When starts boiling turn off the heat.

    Step 6


    1. Serve the fish loins with the mashed potato.
