HOW TO MAKE BAKED OCTOPUS WITH POTATOES

Step 1: Clean and wash the octopus. Place the octopus on a saucepan with water and a peeled onion. Cook over medium-high heat for about 45 minutes. When the octopus is cooked, Place it on a plate and let it cool slightly. Cut the tentacles and set aside.

Step 2: Wash the potatoes very well with the peel. Place the potatoes in a saucepan with water seasoned with salt. Cook over medium-high heat for about 25 minutes. When the potatoes are cooked, place them on a plate and let them cool slightly. Smash the potatoes slightly.

Step 3: Preheat the oven to 180ºC (350ºF).

Step 4: Place the octopus tentacles and the potatoes on a baking dish. Season with unpeeled crushed garlic, pepper and bay leaf. Drizzle with olive oil and bake until slightly golden, about 30 to 35 minutes. TIPS FOR BAKED OCTOPUS WITH POTATOES

1. If the octopus and the potatoes starts to brown too much cover with aluminum foil.

2. We usually bake the octopus at 180ºC (350ºF) but, if you lower the temperature to 150ºC (300ºF), despite taking longer to bake, it has the advantage of enhancing much more the flavors and the octopus gets more tender.

3. If you have leftovers, store the octopus and the potatoes in the fridge in a properly covered container (to prevent the growth of microorganisms). To avoid drying out, do not reheat the food in the oven, reheat it in the microwave.
