If you like to receive friend at home and want to prepare a cake for snack, we suggest this delicious golden cake. It’s quite pleasant, looks delicious and is very simple to prepare.

  • 5 eggs
  • 50 ml (1/4 cup) milk
  • 150 grams (1 cup) all-purpose flour
  • 150 grams (2/3 cup) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons butter


    Step 1

    1. Preheat the oven to 180ºC (350ºF). Grease a bundt cake pan (24 x 8 centimeters (9 1/2-inch diameter with 3 1/4-inch-high sides)) with margarine and dust with flour.

    1. Separate the yolks from the whites. Beat the egg whites until stiff and set aside in the fridge.Golden cake | Food From Portugal

    Step 3

    1. In an electric mixer, beat on medium speed the egg yolks and sugar until a creamy mixture. Add the butter together with the milk and mix for 2 to 3 minutes to incorporate. Reduce the mixer speed to low, add the flour mixed with the baking powder and beat until obtain a homogeneous and creamy mixture. Finally, fold gently with a spatula the whipped egg whites.

    Step 4

    1. Pour the mixture into the prepared panGolden cake | Food From Portugal and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 30 to 35 minutes (the time depends on the oven).

    Step 5

    1. Remove the cake from the oven and unmold onto a plate. Let cool to room temperature and serve.
