  • 200 grams (7 ounces) minced beef
  • 200 grams minced pork
  • 50 ml (1/4 cup) olive oil
  • 100 grams (3 1/2 ounces) raw bacon
  • 1 medium onion
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • Nutmeg (to taste)
  • 200 grams (7 ounces) puff pastry
  • Grated cheese (to taste)
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 egg yolk
  • A few drops of lemon juice
  • Salt (to taste)
  • For the béchamel sauce:
  • 200 ml (about 1 cup) milk
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch flour
  • 1/2 tablespoon butter
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • Nutmeg (to taste)
  • Salt (to taste)


    Step 1

    1. For the béchamel sauce:
    2. Place the butter in a saucepan and heat over low heat. When the butter start to melt, add the flour with a little milk and whisk until the flour is dissolved. Gradually add the rest of the milk, increase to medium heat and stir until a homogeneous and creamy mixture, about 10 minutes.

    Step 2

    1. Turn off the heat and season with a little salt, pepper and nutmeg. Mix the seasonings in the sauce and let cool. Béchamel sauce recipe.

    Step 3

    1. Put the olive oil, chopped onion, chopped garlic and the bacon cut into strips in a frying pan and cook over low for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the minced meat and season with a little salt, pepper, nutmeg and Worcestershire sauce. Stir and cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Step 4

    1. Preheat the oven to 180ºC (350ºF). Line a pie pan (24 centimeters (9 1/2 inches)) with the puff pastry and prick the bottom with a fork.

    Step 5

    1. In a bowl, combine the béchamel sauce with the egg yolk and a few drops of lemon juice.

    1. Drain the meat with a colander. Pour the meat over the pie

      and bake until golden, about 25 to 30 minutes.

    Step 7

    1. Turn off the oven and serve.
