If you want to prepare, for example, a delicious meat or fish recipe in the oven and want to add a creamy and very tasty sauce, we suggest this béchamel sauce. It's a very simple sauce to prepare and combines well with several types of recipes!
This sauce is used in many recipes that we have on our site, recipes in the oven, meat, fish and much more. Usually we use this sauce in recipes in the oven to give extra creaminess to our recipes.
If you don't want to have the job, you can buy the sauce but the taste is not the same, you only need 15 to 20 minutes of your time and you have a tasty recipe made by you!
HOW TO PREPARE BÉCHAMEL SAUCE:
Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat. Add the flour and dissolve it in a little milk. Slowly pour the milk and stir until obtain a creamy mixture. Turn off the heat and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Mix the seasonings, let cool slightly and it's ready!
- 400 ml (1 3/4 cups) milk
- 4 tablespoons corn starch flour
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Pepper (to taste)
- Nutmeg (to taste)
- Salt (to taste)
- Place the butter in a saucepan and heat over low heat. When the butter start to melt, add the flour with a little milk and whisk until the flour is dissolved. Gradually add the rest of the milk, increase to medium heat and stir until a homogeneous and creamy mixture, about 10 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and season with a little salt, pepper and nutmeg. Mix the seasonings in the sauce and let cool completely.
