A traditional meal made with the typical Portuguese ingredients is always an excellent option for any meal. Try dogfish in tomato sauce with potato, it’s a delight and is simple to prepare.

Ingredients

  • Dogfish steaks (about 900 grams / (2 pounds))
  • 2 medium onions
  • 4 medium ripe tomatoes
  • 1/2 red pepper
  • 1/2 green pepper
  • 1/2 orange pepper
  • 1 kg / (2 1/4 pounds) potatoes
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 75 ml / (5 tablespoons) olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 100 ml / (6 3/4 tablespoons) white wine
  • 4 bay leaves
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • Coriander (to taste)
  • Salt (to taste)

    Directions

    Step 1


    1. In a saucepan, place the onion cut into round slices, the peeled garlics, olive oil, the peeled tomato cut into small pieces, the peeled potatoes, the dogfish steaks, the peppers cut into strips and the bay leaves. Season with a little salt, pepper and paprika. Drizzle with white wine and place the pan over medium-low heat about 50 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Step 2


    1. Turn off the heat, sprinkle with chopped coriander and serve.
