HOW TO MAKE BAKED PORK RIBS WITH APPLE:
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 180ºC (350ºF).
Step 2: Wash the apples, remove the seeds and cut them into slices.
Step 3: Place the pork ribs on a baking dish together with the apple slices, salt, pepper, nutmeg, garlic, rosemary, honey and olive oil.
Step 4: Turn off the oven and serve the pork ribs with fries or white rice.
TIPS FOR THIS RECIPE
1. If the pork ribs start to brown too much cover with aluminum foil.
2. We usually bake the pork ribs at 180ºC (350ºF) but, if you lower the temperature to 150ºC (300ºF), despite taking longer to bake, it has the advantage of enhancing much more the flavors and the meat gets more tender.
3. If you have leftovers, store the meat in the fridge in a properly covered container (to prevent the growth of microorganisms). To avoid drying out the meat, do not reheat the food in the oven, reheat it in the microwave.

- 1.2 kg (2 2/3 pounds) pork ribs
- 2 red apples
- Pepper (to taste)
- Nutmeg (to taste)
- 200 ml (1 cup) olive oil
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 6 cloves of garlic
- Rosemary (to taste)
- Salt (to taste)
- Preheat the oven to 180ºC (350ºF).
- Wash the apples, remove the seeds and cut them into slices.
- Place the pork ribs on a baking dish together with the apple slices, salt, pepper, nutmeg, garlic, rosemary, honey and olive oil. Bake until the ribs start to brown, about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Occasionally, drizzle the pork ribs with the sauce. If the ribs start to brown too much, cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.
- Turn off the oven and serve the pork ribs with fries or white rice.
These are really good, just made them for the second time. This time I used just a bit of olive oil to cover each rib, no more than 1/4 cup total. I added some chicken broth and they came out really nice and tender. I also added a garlic powder seasoning mix and a bit of cinnamon.
Next time I’m going to try to make up a marinade to add a big more flavor into the meat.
