HOW TO MAKE SUGAR AND PEAR PIE
Step 1: In a saucepan, whisk the brown sugar, flour and the milk. Place the pan over low heat, add the margarine, stir and bring to a boil.
Step 2: When starts boiling, stir until obtain a creamy and homogeneous mixture, about 4 to 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and let cool for about 5 minutes.
Step 3: Preheat the oven to 180ºC (350ºF).
Step 4: In a small bowl, whisk the egg with a fork. Add to the previous mixture and mix well.
Step 5: Wash and peel the pears. Cut the pears in half, remove the seeds and place them in a bowl drizzled with a little lemon juice to prevent them from oxidizing.
Step 6: Line a pie pan (24 centimeters (9 1/2 inches)) with puff pastry and prick the bottom with a fork.
Step 7: Pour the cream over the pastry and garnish with the pears. Bake until the pears start to turn slightly golden brown; about 25 minutes.
Step 8: Remove the pie from the oven, let cool to room temperature and serve.
