Ingredients

  • 1 kg (2 1/4 pounds) turkey tenderloin
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • Juice of one lemon
  • 75 grams (1/3 cup) margarine
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • 100 ml (1/2 cup) olive oil
  • Salt (to taste)
  • For the puree:

  • 1.2 kg (2 2/3 pounds) potatoes
  • Juice of one lemon
  • Nutmeg (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon margarine
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • 300 ml (1 1/3 cups) milk
  • Salt (to taste)

Directions

  1. Place the turkey tenderloin in a baking dish and season with salt, pepper, chopped garlic, honey and lemon juice. Let marinate about one hour.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180ºC (350ºF). Place the margarine pieces around the turkey and drizzle with olive oil. Bake until the turkey starts to turn golden, about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Occasionally, drizzle the turkey with the sauce.
  3. For the puree:
    Peel, wash the potatoes and place them in a saucepan with water seasoned with salt. Bring to a boil over high heat. When starts boiling, reduce to medium heat and cook about 30 minutes. When the potatoes are cooked, drain them and mash the potatoes with a potato masher or with a fork.
  4. In a saucepan, place the potato together with the milk, butter, nutmeg, pepper and lemon juice. Stir well with a wooden spoon and simmer over low heat until the puree starts bubbling, stirring occasionally. When starts boiling turn off the heat.
  5. Serve the turkey with the mashed potato.
