HOW TO MAKE BAKED MASHED POTATOES WITH TUNA AND EGG
Step 1: Cook the eggs in a saucepan with water. When the eggs are cooked, peel them and set aside.
Step 2: Peel, wash the potatoes and season with salt. Cut them into round slices and fry in hot oil. When they are fried, place the potatoes in a dish with absorbent paper.
Step 3: Drain the tuna and flake it with a fork; set aside.
Step 4: In a saucepan, add the olive oil, chopped onion and the chopped garlic. Sauté over low heat until the onion start to turn slightly golden. Add the tuna, the tomato pulp and season with pepper. Stir and cook for 4 to 5 minutes.
Step 5: Preheat the oven to 180ºC (350ºF).
Step 6: Combine the béchamel, cream and the nutmeg.
Step 7: On a baking dish, place a layer of potatoes, a layer of tuna and another layer of potatoes. Garnish with egg slices, pour the béchamel sauce mixture and sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake until golden brown, about 45 minutes.
Step 8: Turn off the oven and serve.

- 350 grams (12 1/3 ounces) canned tuna
- 1 kg (2 1/4 pounds) potatoes
- 2 eggs
- 1 medium onion
- 200 ml (about 1 cup) tomato pulp
- 50 ml (1/4 cup) olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- A pinch of nutmeg
- 200 ml (about 1 cup) béchamel sauce
- 200 ml (1/2 pint (236 ml)) whipping cream
- 25 grams (1 ounce) grated parmesan cheese or grated mozzarella cheese
- Salt (to taste)
