HOW TO MAKE PORTUGUESE TOMATO JAM

Step 1: Wash and remove the tomato skin and seeds.

Step 2: In a large saucepan, add the tomato cut into small pieces, sugar and the cinnamon sticks. Stir with a wooden spoon and bring to a boil over high heat.

Step 3: When it starts to boil, reduce to low heat and simmer about 1 hour and 20 minutes until thickens (pass a wooden spoon in the bottom of the saucepan and if it leaves a trail like a road, the sweet is ready), stirring occasionally.

Step 4: Turn off the heat, remove the cinnamon sticks and let cool to room temperature.

Step 5: Reserve the tomato jam in a glass jar tightly closed.

HOW TO STORE

Let the tomato jam cool to room temperature and store it in the refrigerator in a glass jar tightly closed. If it is sealed tightly, you can store the jam for about 1 month. After this period, it may begin to lose quality and develop microorganisms.
