HOW TO MAKE MEAT AND CHOURIÇO PIZZA:

For the topping: Put the olive oil, the peeled tomato cut into small pieces and the chopped onion in a saucepan and cook over low heat until the tomato start to break down. Add the minced meat and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Stir and cook over low heat for about 20 minutes. Turn off the heat, drain the meat and set aside.
For the dough: In a bowl, put the flour, water and salt. Knead everything with your hands. Put the dough over a table sprinkled with flour and knead it well until it’s fully involved. Ingredients

  • 150 grams (5 1/3 ounces) minced beef
  • 150 grams (5 1/3 ounces) minced pork
  • 50 ml (1/4 cup) olive oil
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 medium ripe tomatoes
  • 50 grams (1 3/4 ounces) Portuguese chouriço
  • 200 grams (7 ounces) grated mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons tomato pulp
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • Nutmeg (to taste)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • For the dough:

  • 300 grams (about 2 cups) self-rising flour
  • 175 ml (3/4 cup) water
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

Add the minced meat and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Stir and cook over low heat for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  7. Spread the tomato pulp over the dough and sprinkle with a portion of grated cheese (100 grams (3 1/2 ounces) of the cheese). Add the minced meat and sprinkle with the remaining grated cheese. Garnish with chouriço slices and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes.
  8. Turn off the oven and serve.
