INGREDIENTS FOR SIMPLE CHICKEN RICE

- Chicken - Chicken steaks cut into pieces.
- Olive oil, chopped onion, chopped garlic and raw bacon cut into pieces - For sautéing.
- Chicken broth - To cook the rice. Adds a delicious flavor to the rice.
- Nutmeg, Worcestershire sauce and salt - Ingredients for seasoning the chicken.
- Tomato pulp - Ads color and flavor to the recipe.
- Rice - Long-grain rice or medium-grain rice.
- Coriander - Chopped coriander. Adds aroma.

HOW TO MAKE SIMPLE CHICKEN RICE
Step 1: In a saucepan, add the olive oil, chopped onion, chopped garlic and the bacon cut into pieces. Sauté on a medium-low heat for 4 to 5 minutes.
Step 2: Add the chicken steaks cut into pieces and season with salt, nutmeg, Worcestershire sauce and tomato pulp. Stir and cook on a medium-low heat for 7 to 8 minutes.
Step 3: Add the rice and season with a little more salt. Mix the rice in the meat and let it fry for 1 to 2 minutes.
Step 4: Pour the chicken broth, stir and bring to a boil on a medium-high heat. When starts boiling, reduce to low heat and cook for 10 to 12 minutes.
Step 5: Sprinkle with chopped coriander, stir, turn off the heat and serve.
TIPS FOR COOKING RICE
1. We usually use long-grain rice or medium-grain rice but you can use another type of rice. Long-grain rice is looser while medium-grain rice is creamier and absorb much more the flavors.
Rice cooking time: about 10 to 12 minutes for long-grain rice and 13 to 15 minutes for medium-grain rice.
2. The amount of water for the rice depends on each person's taste. The mesure we usually use is 250 ml (about 1 cup) to 300 ml (1 1/3 cups) of water per 100 grams (1/2 cup) rice.
3. Always cook the rice with a lid and over low heat to prevent the rice from burning and sticking to the bottom of the pan.

- 400 grams (14 ounces) chicken steaks
- 50 ml (1/4 cup) olive oil
- 50 grams (1 3/4 ounces) raw bacon
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1 medium onion
- 500 ml (about 2 cups) chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 100 grams (3 1/2 ounces) tomato pulp
- 200 grams (1 cup) long-grain rice
- Coriander (to taste)
- Salt (to taste)
