  • Frankfurter sausages - Sausages cut in slices.
  • Chicken broth - Aromatize and adds flavor to the rice.
  • Onion, garlic and olive oil - They are essential ingredients for sautéing and flavoring.
  • Rice - Long-grain rice. long-grain rice stays separate and fluffy. If you want, you can use medium-grain rice, it's a very tasty rice that fully absorbs the water and seasonings. Once cooked, the rice becomes very creamy.
  • Tomato pulp - Gives color and flavor to the food and makes the recipe creamier.
  • Pepper and nutmeg - Adds flavor.
  • Salt - Highlights all the other flavors.

HOW TO MAKE EASY TURKEY AND SAUSAGE RICE

Step 1: In a saucepan, add the chopped onion, chopped garlic and the olive oil. Sauté on a low heat until the onion start to turn slightly golden. Add the turkey steaks cut into pieces and the sausages cut into slices. Stir and season with pepper, nutmeg and tomato pulp. Stir and cook on a medium-low heat for about 5 minutes.

Step 2: Add the rice and season with salt. Mix everything well and pour the chicken broth. Heat over medium-high heat until starts boiling. When starts boiling, reduce to low heat and cook the rice for 10 to 12 minutes.

TIPS FOR COOKING RICE

1. We usually use long-grain rice or medium-grain rice but you can use another type of rice. Long-grain rice is looser while medium-grain rice is creamier and absorb much more the flavors.
Rice cooking time: about 10 to 12 minutes for long-grain rice and 13 to 15 minutes for medium-grain rice.

2. Always cook the rice with a lid and over low heat to prevent the rice from burning and sticking to the bottom of the pan.
