INGREDIENTS FOR EASY TURKEY AND SAUSAGE RICE

  • Turkey steaks - Turkey steaks cut into small pieces.
  • Frankfurter sausages - Sausages cut in slices.
  • Chicken broth - Aromatize and adds flavor to the rice.
  • Onion, garlic and olive oil - They are essential ingredients for sautéing and flavoring.
  • Rice - Long-grain rice. long-grain rice stays separate and fluffy. If you want, you can use medium-grain rice, it's a very tasty rice that fully absorbs the water and seasonings. Once cooked, the rice becomes very creamy.
  • Tomato pulp - Gives color and flavor to the food and makes the recipe creamier.
  • Pepper and nutmeg - Adds flavor.
  • Salt - Highlights all the other flavors.

HOW TO MAKE EASY TURKEY AND SAUSAGE RICE

Step 1: In a saucepan, add the chopped onion, chopped garlic and the olive oil. Sauté on a low heat until the onion start to turn slightly golden.

Step 2: Add the turkey steaks cut into pieces and the sausages cut into slices. Stir and season with pepper, nutmeg and tomato pulp. Stir and cook on a medium-low heat for about 5 minutes.

Step 3: Add the rice and season with salt. Mix everything well and pour the chicken broth. Heat over medium-high heat until starts boiling. When starts boiling, reduce to low heat and cook the rice for 10 to 12 minutes.

Step 4:Turn off the heat and serve. Bon appetit!!!

TIPS FOR COOKING RICE

After the rice is cooked, turn off the heat, cover de pan and let the rice rest for about 5 minutes.

We usually use long-grain rice or medium-grain rice but you can use another type of rice. Long-grain rice is looser while medium-grain rice is creamier and absorb much more the flavors.

The amount of water for the rice depends on each person's taste. The mesure we usually use is 250 ml (about 1 cup) to 300 ml (1 1/3 cups) of water per 100 grams (1/2 cup) rice.

Can I store this recipe in the fridge?
Yes, you can store in the fridge! Allow the rice to cool to room temperature and place it in an airtight container. You can store the rice in the fridge for about 2 to 3 days. Beyond this time frame, it might start losing its taste and texture.
