Ingredients
- 400 grams (14 ounces) hake loins
- 3 cloves of garlic
- Pepper (to taste)
- 100 ml (1/2 cup) white wine
- 50 ml (1/4 cup) olive oil
- 1 medium onion
- Salt (to taste)
- 1.2 kg (2 2/3 pounds) potatoes
- 1 tablespoon margarine
- Juice of one lemon
- Nutmeg (to taste)
- Pepper (to taste)
- 300 ml (1 1/3 cups) milk
- Salt (to taste)
For the puree:
Directions
- Season the fish loins with salt, chopped garlic, pepper and white wine. Let marinate about one hour.
- Preheat the oven to 180ºC (350ºF).
- In a baking dish, place the onions cut into round slices and the fish with the marinade. Drizzle with olive oil and bake about 25 minutes.
- For the puree:
Peel, wash the potatoes and place them in a saucepan with water seasoned with salt. Bring to a boil over high heat. When starts boiling, reduce to medium heat and cook about 30 minutes. When the potatoes are cooked, drain them and mash the potatoes with a potato masher or with a fork. - In a saucepan, place the potato together with the milk, butter, nutmeg, pepper and lemon juice. Stir well with a wooden spoon and simmer over low heat until the puree starts bubbling, stirring occasionally. When starts boiling turn off the heat.
- Serve the fish loins with the mashed potato.
