  • Egg yolk - Lightly beaten egg yolk for brushing the puffs.
  • Thyme - Chopped thyme. To add a little more flavor and color to the puffs.

HOW TO MAKE HAM AND CHEESE PUFFS

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 200ºC (400ºF).

Step 2: Roll out the puff pastry. Place a layer of ham and another layer of cheese on top of the puff pastry.

Step 3: Roll the pastry from one end to the other and cut into slices.

Step 4: Place the slices on a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Step 5: Lightly beat the yolk.

Brush the puffs with egg yolk and sprinkle with chopped thyme.

RECIPE TIPS

1. You can store this puffs at room temperature for up two days. Wrap in aluminium foil and place them in an airtight container.

2. In this recipe we use pork ham but if you want a slightly healthier recipe you can make these puffs with turkey ham.

3. Cheese slices or grated cheese (suggestion: parmesan, cheddar or mozzarella cheese).
