Wash, peel the pears and cut into pieces. In a saucepan, add the pear pieces, granulated sugar, Port wine and the cinnamon stick. Heat on a low heat for about 1 hour until thickens slightly. Turn off the heat and remove the cinnamon stick. Pour the jam in a glass jar and let cool completely. Reserve in the fridge.

  • 1.2 kg (2 2/3 pounds) ripe pear
  • 250 grams (about 1 cup) granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Port wine
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Directions

  1. Wash, peel the pears and cut into pieces.
  2. In a saucepan, add the pear pieces, granulated sugar, Port wine and the cinnamon stick. Heat on a low heat for about 1 hour until thickens slightly (pass a wooden spoon in the bottom of the saucepan and if it leaves a trail like a road, the sweet is ready), stirring occasionally.
  3. Turn off the heat and remove the cinnamon stick. Pour the jam in a glass jar and let cool completely.
  4. Reserve in the fridge.
