  • 300 grams (10 1/2 ounces) beef steaks
  • 1 tablespoon margarine
  • 50 ml (1/4 cup) olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • Salt (to taste)
  • For the béchamel sauce:
  • 100 ml (1/2 cup) milk
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch flour
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • Nutmeg (to taste)
  • Salt (to taste)


    Step 1

    1. For the béchamel sauce:
    2. Place the butter in a saucepan and heat over low heat. When the butter start to melt, add the flour with a little milk and whisk until the flour is dissolved. Gradually add the rest of the milk, increase to medium heat and stir until a homogeneous and creamy mixture, about 10 minutes.

    Step 2

    1. Turn off the heat and season with a little salt, pepper and nutmeg. Mix the seasonings in the sauce and let cool. Béchamel sauce recipe.

    1. Season the steaks with salt and pepper.

    1. Heat in a frying pan the olive oil, margarine and the peeled crushed garlic. When the margarine start to melt, add the steaks and fry them on both sides over medium-low heat about 10 minutes.

    Step 5

    1. When the steaks are fried, remove them to a plate. Add the Worcestershire sauce and the béchamel to the frying pan, stir and cook for about 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the steaks back to the skillet, drizzle with the sauce and turn off the heat.

    Step 6

    1. Serve the steaks with fried egg and chips.
