  • Pasta (al dente) - Elbow macaroni cooked with water seasoned with a pinch of salt and a peeled onion.
  • Canned tuna - Drain and flake the tuna with a fork.
  • Chopped onion, chopped garlic and olive oil - They are essential ingredients for sautéing and flavoring.
  • Tomato pulp - Gives color and flavor to the food and makes the sauce creamier.
  • Pepper - Adds flavor to the food.
  • Salt and a peeled onion - To season the pasta cooking water.
  • Water - To cook the pasta.

HOW TO MAKE EASY TUNA MACARONI

Step 1: Drain and flake the tuna with a fork; set aside.

Step 2: Cook the pasta in a saucepan with water seasoned with a little salt and a peeled onion. When the pasta is cooked, drain it with a skimmer and set aside.

Step 3: Meanwhile, in a saucepan, add the chopped onion, chopped garlic and the olive oil. Stir and sauté on a medium-low heat until the onion start to turn golden brown, stirring occasionally.

Step 4: Add the tuna, pepper and the tomato pulp. Stir and cook on a low heat for 3 to 4 minutes.

Step 5: Add the cooked macaroni, mix the pasta well in the tuna and cook for more 1 to 2 minutes.

RECIPE TIPS

If you have leftovers, store the tuna macaroni in the fridge in a properly airtight container (to prevent the growth of microorganisms). We advise that you do not store it for more than 2 days.

If you prefer, you can replace the tomato pulp and cook the tuna with fresh tomatoes cut into small chunks. The recipe will be healthier, but will take longer to make.
