After almost two hours seasoning the leg absorbs all the seasonings. Baked for almost two hours, flavored with lemon juice and drizzled with olive oil that gives a slight creaminess to the sauce. It's a perfect recipe to serve on Thanksgiving day!

Ingredients

  • 1 kg (2 1/4 pounds) turkey leg
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 150 ml (2/3 cup) olive oil
  • Juice of one lemon
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 large onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Thyme (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Place the turkey leg on a baking dish and brush with Dijon mustard. Season with salt, pepper, nutmeg, paprika, chopped garlic and thyme. Let marinate for about two hours.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180ºC (350ºF).
  3. Add the sliced onion to the baking dish and drizzle the turkey leg with olive oil and lemon juice. Roast until golden brown, about 1 hour and 50 minutes (if it starts to golden too much, cover the leg with aluminum foil). Occasionally, drizzle the turkey leg with the sauce.
  4. Turn off the oven and serve with fries.
